10:10 January

It's taken me a few years to accept that completing a picture a day project for an entire year just isn't in the cards for me. It hasn't stopped me from trying (and failing) to complete one. But hey, let's just say that optimism get's the better of me. ;)

This year though, I'm abandoning the idea of taking a picture a day. It's just too much. Instead, I'm aiming for a year-long photo project that forces me to choose just ten images from my backlog, with the ultimate goal of making a book I'll be able to hold at the start of the next year.

This month I chose to focus on my wide angle zoom lens, which I don't use often because it underperforms in low-light compared to my smaller 50mm lens, and because it's a monster--so heavy! I'm not sure if I'll continue on with this theme for the next month, but I was happy with the challenge that composing in a wide angle gave, and it gave my muscles a literal workout. Here's to building strength!

Will you join me? If you'd like to play along, feel free to join up on Facebook each month and post a link to your 10:10 in the comments, or add them in the comments below. There's also a Flickr group for anyone who prefers to play along that way.

Without further ado, here's my 10:10 for January. Lots of windows and strong light. Enjoy!
